It was the Fall of 1967. Summer was over; the tourists had abandoned the island, the amusment park was closed, and the beach had a slightly forlorn look. Mary had not come to the small island to enjoy the surf and sand, she was there to deliver a Valentine's card. A card that should have been mailed over thirty years before, and had it been mailed everything would have been different. That was Mary's mission on the island, and she needed to deliver the card herself. All she had to do was find Jack. Folly Beach Series Book 1 Teen and up

Annie Cray Smith was my great-grandmother and was a young girl at the start of the Civil War. She meticulously recorded the first half of her life in a notebook, copies of which were handed down through the years. Without changing anything other than a few minor things for reading continuity. She was an amazing woman with a story that brings to life the struggles of an orphan growing up and living in a historic era. "I was asked by a friend, why should I take the time and trouble to write a story of my life that was of no interest to any save myself. My reply was this: "My children don't know the names of their ancestors, when they lived, or who they were...." A.R. Smith

The Red Ribbon: a story of hope Tour

The Red Ribbon: a story of hope began with a simple story I created years ago for Greenville Family Partnership to go with their drug prevention poster. That story became a book, followed by two others that are still being used in the annual Red Ribbon Campaign in thousands of schools in the United States, Canada, and even Mexico. The story has been used numerous for plays and musicals. All three of the books can be purchased here. None of the profits go to me and never have.
